The number of young people not in education, training or work has risen to a record level in England.
Official figures for the third quarter of this year say there were 1,163,000 people aged from 16 to 24 not in education, employment or training (NEET) Source (BBC).
This is a great worry and sadness to read. With the economy still is troubled waters and jobs scarce throughout the UK, most notably in the North West of England, there is a danger that history will repeat itself and a generation will be lost. Many attempts have been tried and tested to reverse this number from Apprenticeships to further education but more and more people are falling through this net and end us as a NEET statistic.
As a college this is a great worry, a vast number of our students around the world fall into the 16-24 age group and it is at this age group many people decide their career paths from doctors to massage therapists and everything in between.
Here at Stonebridge we offer a range of courses from beauty therapy to SAGE Accounts and so much more, in our attempt to help further the careers of our students in their current jobs or if they are seeking a new career altogether. While jobs may be scarce for over 1 million 16-24-year-olds, there is still a vast range of options for learning opportunities for this generation. They can help boost your skills and knowledge which can help you get the job of your dreams or launch your very own business.
More than 2million people in the UK are currently unemployed or not in Education, we want to help as many as possible get to the job of their dreams, if there are any courses that you would like us to provide, then please comment below.
Education is so valuable, it is great that Stonebridge can help 16-24 year olds with practical courses to begin their careers.

I can’t think of anything specific off the top of my head that I would like to see Stonebridge/Elearn offering as I am very happy on the courses I am doing at the moment. It is a problem though when I know that I can spend the time and the money studying, but there is still a good chance that I will be unable to find a job in the area I wish to work in.
I’d like to see some canine related courses, psychology, care, breeding etc, I’d snap it up in an instant 🙂
