Are you in a situation where you don’t know the purpose of living your life?
Do you have a sneaking suspicion that something is missing (in your life); you’re not following your passion but you have no idea what it is?
What you need to do is to find your passion. Find something that you will love doing every day. Your passion gives you purpose to live your life to the fullest. How to find something you’re passionate about? Here are some tips you can use to put meaning into your life:
Identify your passion
Your passion for something lies within you. You don‘t have to look for it somewhere else. It’s inside you, waiting to be discovered.
First, you must distinguish your passion from your other personal interests. Your personal interests are divided into three types. These are the things you like doing, the things you need to do and the things you are passionate about.
The things you like doing are those that you only do occasionally. You only do them to break routine for a while. For instance, you may want to watch a movie, try a new cooking recipe or learn a new sport.
The things you need to do are those you that you do to survive. This could be either going to work or managing your business.
The things you are passionate about are the things that give you tremendous happiness. This could be your hobby, your favourite sport, your job or career.
Develop your passion
How do you develop a passion about something after you have identified it? There are no secret techniques. You just need to do it and practice more. If photography is your passion, go out and take pictures. Take photography lessons. Take online photography courses. Do everything that’s needed to develop your passion.
You’re wasting your time if you’re thinking whether or not doing your passion as a career. You worry if your passion isn’t really a long-term career choice, or that it won’t make you much money or it’s a little unstable. However, if you go for it, you’ll soon find out that what you’re doing is just right, and maybe, you’ll come up with the decision to finally make your passion as a career. Engage and take action to make things happen.
Set specific goals and make a list of things you would do each day. List the things you want to accomplish in a week, month and a year from now.
Passion and purpose go together. When you’re living a life of purpose, you are contented with what you have and who you are. You’ll learn to treasure every moment and seek life without regret.
People around you will start to take notice when you have a passion for something. They want to know what’s up with you and can they get in on whatever you’re doing. If you really execute this, opportunities will start to fall into your lap very quickly. You’re going to fall into what you’re meant to do in this world.
