Assessment Requirements             

This qualification is completed through a portfolio submission, which includes physical demonstrations on live animals. These demonstrations must be clearly evidenced and aligned with the relevant assessment criteria. When required, physical demonstrations must be observed and recorded by the tutor to validate the qualification submission.

Placement or Practical Required

This course includes a placement with Paddocks Farm Rehabilitation.

Certification Timeframe

Learners can expect their certification within 6 months of completing the course, following the (EQA) External Quality Assurance of assessment.

  • Understand the components of a small animal gait assessment for aquatic treadmill practice
  • Understand the clinical use of small animal gait analysis in aquatic treadmill practice
  • Be able to demonstrate small animal gait analysis using assessment findings
  • Understand the components utilised in an individual treatment programme using an aquatic treadmill
  • Be able to assess the small animal musculoskeletal system using therapeutic palpitation techniques
  • Be able to demonstrate small animal gait assessment
  • Be able to apply a range of advanced treatment techniques in the aquatic treadmill
  • Appraise the use of aquatic treadmill treatment in clinical practice
