About Your Course

If you already gained your Foot Health Care Practitioner qualification with us but life got in the way of you putting this qualification towards a career, taking this step at a later date can feel overwhelming. Especially if you feel that your foot health skills and knowledge aren’t what they used to be.

Thankfully, you don’t need to re-complete the entire qualification to get up to speed. You can brush up on your skills and gain the confirmation you need from industry professionals that you are indeed ready to take a confident step into this profession, with this online Foot Health Care Practitioner Refresher Course.

You will revisit essential theory in topics like anatomy and physiology, so you can perform tasks like measuring blood pressure and checking lower limb circulation with ease. Other topics will focus on preparing you for setting up and managing a professional practice, so you will be reassured of your ability to begin your own business venture.

Finally, the course will round off with practical training in a state-of-the-art foot health training facility. This will run for 5 days and will consist of a one day masterclass on starting your own practice, followed by four days of clinical practice experience. After this, you will be fully prepared to move into a career as a Foot Health Practitioner.

During your online studies, you will receive tutor support, then you will have the opportunity to put your skills to practice and learn from experienced industry professionals in 5 days of practical training in our state-of-the-art facility.

You can start your course as soon as you enrol via our online learning portal. Just log in and all your course materials will be there waiting for you.

Learners must have completed a Foot Health course with either Stonebridge Associated College/learndirect previously. Training cannot have been completed with another training provider.

Assessement requirements

All theory assignments (2) must be completed. Observations will take place when attending practicals on real clients who attend the clinic.

Placement or Practical required

A 5-day placement must be completed over consecutive days with all days fully attended.

If placement or practical required, when?

Units 1 and 2 must be completed before any practical can be booked.

Exams required

The practical training element of this course will include 2 knowledge tests. These are not set by the awarding body

The Learner is required to have the appropriate uniform and PPE for the practical element of the training.

Certification Timeframe

6 weeks

All course fees, inclusive of all payment plans including our Premium Credit Limited option, must be settled before certification can be ordered.

Unit 1: Anatomy and Physiology (T/506/9528, D/506/9524)
On completion of this unit you will:
  • Understand the relevant principles of anatomy and physiology in relation to foot health care
  • Know the importance of measuring blood pressure for foot health care
  • Be able to check the circulation of the lower limb
  • Understand circulatory disorders of the lower limb      
Unit 2: Setting up and managing a professional practice (T/506/9531)
On completion of this unit you will:
  • Understand the business logistics of setting up a practice for foot health care
  • Understand the steps in assessing a business opportunity
  • Be able to plan a foot health care business
Unit 3: Your Practical Training (Y/506/9523, H/506/9525 M/506/9530, A/506/9532, M/506/9527, A/506/9529, K/506/9526 T/506/9529, D/506/9524, T/506/9528)
On completion of this unit you will:
  • Be able to prepare for foot care treatments by carrying out all of the necessary risk assessments
  • Be able to make recommendations for treatment
  • Be able to carry out treatments safely
  • Be able to record information relevant to foot health care
  • Be able to reflect on own practice

This Foot Health Practitioner Refresher Course is carried out via distance learning for modules 1 and 2, you will then be assessed during your practical training for module 3.
