GCSE Sociology gives you the knowledge and understanding of key social structures, processes and issues. You will do this through the study of families, education, crime and deviance, and social stratification.
You will be encouraged to develop your analytical and communication skills through comparing and contrasting perspectives on a variety of social issues.
The course includes the ideas of classical sociologists such as Durkheim, Marx, and Weber. You will be expected to understand and reference their view of the world and their contribution to the development of the discipline.
