The Level 3 Certificate in Canine Nutrition has been designed to give you the required knowledge and understanding of canine nutrition necessary to pursue a rewarding career within the canine health and diet industry.
During this qualification, you will study aspects of canine nutrition, feeding regimes and the impact that diet has on canine health and behaviour.
This Ofqual regulated qualification is suitable whether you currently work in the industry and would like to progress in your role, or, whether you care for or work with dogs and would like to learn more about canine nutrition.
On completion of the Level 3 Certificate in Canine Nutrition, you will have the necessary knowledge and understanding to apply for positions within the pet food, canine health, and welfare industries.
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification but learners must be aged 16 or over and have working knowledge of at least Level 2.

Understand canine nutrition
Know different types of canine diets
Understand the BARF concept
Understand home cooked diets for canines
On completion of this unit you will:
Know the nutritional requirements of pregnant and lactating canines
Know the nutritional requirements of puppies
Know the nutritional requirements of senior canines and beyond
Know the nutritional requirements of working and sporting canines
Know the nutritional requirements of ill, injured and recovering canines
Understand energy requirement calculations for canines
On completion of this unit you will:
Know the effects of canine diet on health and welfare
Understand the effects of canine diet on behaviour
Know how legislation impacts upon canine food production
To gain the Level 3 Certificate in Canine Nutrition you must achieve 25 credits.
Each unit will be assessed by a range of in-depth theory assessments. Students will need to show sufficient evidence that they have the required knowledge, skills and understanding of the assessment criteria.
Learners can expect their certification within 6 months of completing the course, following the (EQA) External Quality Assurance of assessment.
All course fees, inclusive of all payment plans including our Premium Credit Limited option, must be settled before certification can be ordered.
