Around 10% of adults experience mood disorders, which can include low mood, unipolar depression, bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder.
The severity of the conditions can vary from person to person but can be severe enough to require on going support. In extreme cases the individual can require relocating to supported accommodation so they can access help any time of the day or night.
This course will provide you with a comprehensive introduction to the types of mood disorders – and their effects – that people commonly experience.
You will also learn about the treatments available for mood disorders including medication and therapies. This ranges from talking therapies such as CBT to holistic/alternative therapies such as crystal healing, chakra healing and Japanese healing.
By understanding these different approaches you can support the individual in a person centred way, allowing them to choose a therapy that’s right for them.
The course will also teach you about time management, life coaching support networks and how to set up your own coaching business.
This course is also suitable for sufferers from Mood disorders, and those providing support or care to those individuals. Therapy models include life coaching, counselling, relaxation therapy, autogenics, CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and elements of eastern philosophy.
This course is entirely online and does not require any previous experience to be eligible. Just enrol and you can start your learning the same day.
There are other complementary courses available once you have completed this course, including like skills coaching. This could help you to provide additional support to those struggling with their mental health issues.
